2010 black year for women in Turkey
2010 was yet another black year as far as women killing was concerned in Turkey. According to the figures, 16 women were mercilessly murdered mostly by people close to them, namely husbands, fathers, boyfriends or brothers.
AI urges Iran not to execute Habibollah Latifi
Amnesty International has released an urgent appeal to stop the execution of Habibollah Latifi, a male member of the Kurdish minority in Iran. His execution has been scheduled for 26 December, according to his lawyer. He was sentenced to death following an unfair trial.

Kurdish journalist imprisoned in Iran in bad condition
Kurdish journalist and human rights defender Mihemed Sediq Kebudwend, who is imprisoned in Evin Prison in Tehran/Iran, is being threatened by his bad medical condition. Journalist Mihemed Sediq Kebudwend, who is among the founders of East Kurdistan Human Rights Organization (KMMK), is not allowed for treatment in Evin Prison he is imprisoned in.

Torture on sisters denounced
Policemen tortured this time in courthouse, where two sisters were made to remove their clothes to be searched. When sisters argued against the shape, they got beat up for 5,5 hours in a room they were locked in. Despite the bruises on their bodies, sisters were given “clean” report by the doctor they saw. Not only that, policemen filed charges against sisters.
